BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Reginald Jackson, Ph.D
Reginald Jackson is a
soulful saxophonist, and an accomplished performer on
clarinet, piano, organ, and flute - a gifted all around
“musician’s musician”. Reginald combines elements of
Contemporary Jazz, Blues and Gospel to create a unique
sound that moves audiences all over the country.
Growing up in Decatur, Alabama, Reginald’s early musical
experiences included singing and playing the piano for
church choirs. He grew into teaching music and
conducting workshops locally and across the United
States. Reggie has received numerous awards for his
pursuit of excellence.
Dr.
Reginald Jackson’s studies include: Alabama A & M University,
The University of Alabama (B.S.), Northwestern University
(Masters) and Florida State University (Ph.D., in Music
Education). Reginald currently travels the country conducting
gospel music workshops, keyboard seminars, and performing on
saxophone, piano and organ. He currently serves as Minister of
Music at St. Stephens Baptist Church, The Pentecostal House of
Prayer, and El Shaddi Ministries in Decatur, Alabama. He
recently joined the faculty of the University of North Alabama
as the Clarinet Instructor, and Alabama A & M University as the
Clarinet and Saxophone Instructor. In
between performances, he records, and has released 5
instrumental CD’s:
“Walking In My Destiny,”
“If God Be For Us,” “The Spirit of Christmas,” “I’m
Still Here,” and
“Expressions”
Dr.
Jackson’s extensive background in music education has inspired a
series of keyboard books entitled “Teach
Yourself to Play the Piano/Keyboard by Ear” Book
1, and 2, designed for individuals interested in playing by ear
using non-traditional notation. The 3rd text,” Songs
for Piano”, is designed for individuals who read music and
desire to use reading music to learn to play by ear.

Jackson has participated in several gospel music workshops and
